The 2nd ABSOLUTELY FATAL mistake Life Coaches & NLP trainers make is - NOT charging for their services.

This is not the same as offering a free sample. Every profession has its own version of FREE samples.

However, Life Coaches & NLP trainers just refuse to quote a price for their services. And there are several versions of this phenomena which includes but is not limited to - refusing to ask for anything in lieu of the services rendered, leaving it up to the "client" to decide the payment, asking the "client" to give a "gift" etc.,

There are 3 reasons for this & often more than 1 of these reasons are at play:

1) They do not have confidence in the vlaue of the services they claim to render.

2) Even if they had confidence or manage to build it, they equate their work with being kind & empathetic towards others & hence - " how can I charge a price for being kind? If I charge a price for being kind then, am I being selfish ? "

3) When push comes to shove & their survival may be at stake & they finally muster up the courage to charge for their services - they find their service to be too abstract and intangible & hence do not not how to come up with a price for their services.

Given these 3 levels of complex human emotions & decision making process, many soon reach a stage where they decide to quit this profession.

Not charging a " FAIR " monetary price for your services directly destroys any prospect of business you might have had. The discerning client, who is willing to pay for the services, finds this as a reason to become suspicious of the quality of service you claim to render & may also find you downright unprofessional.

It's a profession - Be "Professional" about it.
