Who Are Choosing Coaching As A Profession
2/3rds of the coaches worldwide are female & majority of coaches are over 45 years in age. While there aren't many young coaches worldwide, the larger number of younger coaches and males are from the Asia-Pacific region. 60% of coaches worldwide have an advanced degree (Master's or Ph.D.).

A 2010 ICF Global Consumer Awareness Study found that, overall, 25- to 34-year-olds are more aware of professional coaching and see coaching as a viable resource to help them with their career goals.

The 2012 ICF Global Coaching Study is one of the most ambitious pieces of industry research ever conducted on the field of professional coaching. A primary goal was to engage with as many coaches as possible worldwide, thus providing an up-to-date picture of the profession to help meet the challenges ahead. More than 12,000 coaches from 117 nations participated in the 2012 ICF Global Coaching Study.
